Jakarta, January 17, 2025 – The number of abortion cases in Indonesia continues to rise. Since 2022, there have been approximately 2.5 million recorded abortion cases, with 1.5 million of them involving young teenagers.
In addition to the increasing abortion rate, the number of sexually transmitted diseases has also surged. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health shows that syphilis cases have increased by 70% over the past five years, from 2018 to 2022.
Furthermore, there are around 100,000 people living with undiagnosed HIV, posing a potential risk of transmission to the wider population. Out of a total of 526,841 people living with HIV, only 429,215 have been diagnosed and are aware of their status.
The lack of proper education and safe spaces for self-expression has become the root of many personal relationship issues, leading to negative consequences. These include unplanned pregnancies, the threat of sexually transmitted diseases, and even increased violence against women due to limited sexual education.
The impact of these issues is widespread, affecting various aspects of life, such as rising divorce rates, early marriages, school dropouts among teenagers, and increased economic burdens on society and the country. In response to this alarming situation, VIVO has introduced an innovative solution through Hotel For Play: The Fantasy Room Experience, a safe and healthy space for fantasy exploration and education.
“We recognize that exploring fantasies can be a complex challenge and a contributing factor to serious societal issues, including sexual violence, abuse against women, and unplanned pregnancies. This is why Hotel For Play was created—as a space for self-expression and fantasy exploration in a positive, fun, immersive, and entertaining way,” said Yoevan Wiraatmaja, President Director of PT. The exhibition will be held from January 18, 2025, to February 23, 2025, at Senayan Park, Jakarta. Designed as an immersive exhibition, Hotel For Play: The Fantasy Room Experience aims to provide a safe and inclusive space for individuals to explore their fantasies. In collaboration with Haluu, a renowned experimental art event promoter, VIVO is committed to creating an educational environment where people can freely express themselves, especially regarding fantasies that are often considered taboo by society.
“This exhibition is not just about entertainment; it is also an educational platform that helps people understand and explore their fantasies in a fun yet responsible and positive way. We want to support individuals in discovering and expressing their fantasies in a healthy manner, free from fear or stigma,” explained Christian Eka, Sales and Marketing Director of PT. Danpac Pharma.
Hotel For Play: The Fantasy Room Experience features five thematic rooms, inspired by the elements of water, earth, air, fire, and outer space. Each room is uniquely designed to provide a deep visual, auditory, and sensory experience, encouraging visitors to explore their imagination in an engaging and interactive way.
The journey begins in Labyrinth Garden, a wild and adventurous space where visitors are invited to experience primal hunting instincts in an untamed setting. Next, they will explore Tryst by the Water, followed by On Cloud Nine, a dreamy lounge in the sky filled with mesmerizing light and shadow play. Visitors will continue their journey to the Lost in Space room. Here, visitors can explore a new dimension with a mysterious experimental design. The journey will be closed with the A Club Named Desire room which offers surging energy in a lively atmosphere in a vibrant nightclub.
With this approach, it is hoped that visitors will not only be invited to understand their fantasy preferences, but also enrich their relationships with their partners through new, fun and interesting ways.
This is a means of educating the public about the importance of using products that support healthy and safe fantasies, as well as reminding them that fantasies can be expressed in ways that do not harm themselves or others.
